We had a great experience at Liberi Mercanti - Guest House Affittacamere. Simone, the manager, was incredibly helpful. When we couldn't find the parking, he rode over on his bicycle and guided us to the parking garage. The location of the old house is perfect, right next to the Guinigi Tower. There are supermarkets and restaurants nearby, and the room is clean and simple. Simone provided us with excellent recommendations for beach access, food , and sightseeing. The room also has a kitchen and two bikes available for use. If you have a lot of luggage, be sure to ask for a permit to drop it off in the city center before parking outside the walls for free.

I recently stayed at a guesthouse in the heart of old town Lucca called Liberi Mercanti. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm and friendly staff, especially Simone. He was always there to greet me with a smile, offer helpful advice, and engage in interesting conversations. The location couldn't have been better, as it was centrally located and allowed me to easily explore the charming streets of Lucca on foot. The guesthouse also had a shared kitchen and laundry facilities, which made my stay even more convenient. The room itself was quiet and comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep.

The rooms at Liberi Mercanti - Guest House Affittacamere felt so cozy and welcoming. I loved the comfortable beds and how clean everything was. The flat-screen TV was a nice touch, perfect for relaxing after a busy day exploring Lucca.

The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the tile/marble floor in the twin/double room. It felt a bit cold and hard underfoot.

Great amenities and shared spaces! The room was spacious and the bathroom was fabulous. The shared kitchen with a huge dining table was a bonus, allowing us to prepare our own meals when we wanted. The free bikes provided were a fantastic way to explore the surrounding area. The location was perfect, close to all attractions and with beautiful views of the mountains. I also loved the friendly and informative host, who made our stay even more enjoyable.

Just be aware that there are several flights of stairs, which may be challenging for those with mobility or breathing issues. The property is an ancient building with no elevator, so it's important to keep that in mind.

One situation that stood out to me during my stay was when I became ill. Unfortunately, we were staying in the attic family room where the temperature was extremely hot, reaching over 30 degrees Celsius.

The value for money at this guest house was excellent, with a clean and comfortable room that had a touch of history. The location was perfect, right in the heart of the city and close to all the attractions. The staff, Simone, Elena, and Esther, were incredibly friendly and provided us with helpful recommendations throughout our stay.
